About this Opportunity:

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining the corporate networks of Orion by developing and maintaining controls and procedures related to networking and security. In addition, this position ensures all activities performed adhere to ISO 27001 Information Security Management System (ISMS) and protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of customer data by participating in annual information and network security training acceptance spot checks on an ad hoc basis guaranteeing constant improvement Orion Advisor Solutions and its subsidiaries.

Location: It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work as a Hybrid employee, with three (3) or more days each week required on-site at one of the listed office locations. Candidates should be located within a commutable distance to an office. Internal candidates currently aligned to an Orion office location may be given preference; however, internal candidates with varying work arrangements may be considered based on experience and business needs. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

In this role, youโ€™ll get to:
  • Mentor network administrators.
  • Design, manage, and maintain the corporate network LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN systems.
  • Plan, evaluate, and execute on-prem and AWS/Azure networking.
  • Engage professional services as needed for planned projects and/or advanced configuration changes, upgrades, and similar work.
  • Perform problem troubleshooting and resolution, including interactions with site contacts, carriers, vendors, and Orion leadership teams.
  • Proactively monitor Orion core networks, components, and connections to detect and resolve problems and ensure uninterrupted operation of the network.
  • Maintain public internet connections and related security.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot company firewalls.
  • Architect, build, and support the wired and wireless infrastructure.
  • Plan, evaluate, and execute network maintenance activities.
  • Oversee installation and ongoing administration of Software Defined WAN technology.
  • Manage BGP and engage Telco support for circuit issues until resolution.
  • Plan and oversee cabling, network cabinets, and patch panel management at all locations.
  • Participate in DR testing as needed.
  • Research all critical updates for network equipment and install as needed.
  • Review Network Health Performance Reports and review potential problems with SolarWinds.
  • Operate and troubleshoot company DNS/DHCP/IPAM with Infoblox.
  • Contribute to the leadership of the network team as we implement software defined networks and build for the future.
  • Purchase necessary department equipment by creating department purchase orders.
  • Comply with afterhours change windows.
  • Manage cases for all network related requests and resolve issues while meeting customer satisfaction requirements.
  • Monitor and respond to all alerts and participate in the 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Be available in a timely manner upon an alert for support.
  • Give input on new network related projects.
Weโ€™re looking for talent who:
  • Proficient skills with Aruba AOS-CX and AOS-S, including VSX and EVPN-VXLAN technologies.
  • Experience with Aruba CX 8400/8360/8325 core and aggregation switches and CX 6400/6300/6200 access switches.
  • Experience with Aruba gateways (9200/7200 series), access points, and controller-based wireless.
  • Experience with Aruba Central, Aruba Fabric Composer, and NetEdit for fabric design, orchestration, and configuration management.
  • Experience with AWS and Azure networking.
  • Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Experience with BGP, OSPF, and VRRP.
  • Understanding of Infoblox DDI.
  • Experience with F5 Local Traffic.
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and within a team environment.
  • Ability to work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and address competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire technical skills and develop familiarity with industry or specialized products.
  • Creating network documentation and diagrams.
  • Associates/Bachelorโ€™s degree in MIS, Computer Science, Network Technology, or related field required.
  • One CCNA, CCNP, PCNSA, PCNSE certifications preferred.
  • Orion Industry Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Minimum of 7 years of direct combined network engineering and network firewall experience preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Previous experience working with information security and corporate information security policies preferred.
  • Strong understanding of routing (BGP, OSPF) and switching (VLANs, STP/MSTP).
  • Current Aruba certification (ACSA, ACSP, ACMA, or ACMP) and Palo Alto PCNSA or PCNSE certification, preferred.
  • Owns and manages relationships with stakeholders directly and works effectively with people at all levels in an organization.
