Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Production Artist / Embroidery Operator to join our production team. This is a hands-on hybrid position combining production artwork and embroidery operation.
A key responsibility of this position is owning our artwork preflight process. Before logos move into production, this person will review artwork against customer and brand guidelines, identify potential issues, make necessary production adjustments, and help ensure the finished product accurately represents the approved logo.
The ideal candidate has mid-level experience in production graphics and Adobe illustrator or relatable software. Embroidery experience not necessary but the ability to learn embroidery production once onboarded is a non-negotiable.

Key Responsibilities

Artwork Preflight & Logo Compliance

  • Own and manage the artwork preflight process for embroidery production.
  • Review incoming logos and artwork before they are released to production.
  • Verify artwork against available customer and brand logo guidelines.
  • Check logo proportions, colors, placement, sizing, clear space, orientation, and other brand requirements.
  • Identify artwork that may not reproduce properly in embroidery and make or recommend appropriate adjustments.
  • Flag discrepancies, missing information, or questionable artwork before production begins.
  • Maintain consistency in how logos are produced across repeat orders.
  • Help establish and improve preflight standards, checklists, and processes.
  • Maintain organized production-ready artwork and logo files.

Production Artwork & Digitizing

  • Prepare and modify customer artwork for embroidery production.
  • Make production adjustments while preserving the integrity of the customer's logo and brand standards.
  • Create or modify embroidery files as needed.
  • Review digitized files for stitch quality, density, sequencing, trims, registration, and overall sewability.
  • Size and configure designs appropriately for different garments and decoration locations.
  • Perform test sew-outs when needed and make adjustments before releasing designs to production.
  •

Embroidery Production

  • Set up and operate commercial embroidery equipment.
  • Load embroidery files and verify the correct design, size, thread colors, and placement before production.
  • Hoop garments and select appropriate backing, needles, thread, and other materials.
  • Monitor embroidery runs and identify production issues before they result in larger quantities of defective product.
  • Perform thread changes, routine machine adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient embroidery production area.
  • Assist with production as workload and priorities require.
