Job description

Oak View Group (OVG) is the global leader in premium live entertainment infrastructure and services, with a platform spanning venue development and end-to-end capabilities across venue management, hospitality, and sponsorship sales. The Kitchen Supervisor oversees kitchen operations and ensures the highest standards of food quality, safety, and efficiency. The Kitchen Supervisor will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, managing inventory, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring a smooth and productive workflow. Must be comfortable working in outdoor conditions.

This role pays an hourly rate of $19.00-$24.00 CAD.

Spruce Meadows is South Calgary's leading Sports and Entertainment District, located on the border of Southwest Calgary. Regarded as one of the top show jumping venues on the planet, a stunning 500-acre property also hosts a wide range of events, including tournaments, concerts, festivals, and world-famous markets.


  • Supervise kitchen team members, including cooks, prep cooks, dishwashers, and other kitchen personnel.
  • Oversee food preparation and cooking, ensuring food is prepared according to restaurant standards and timelines.
  • Maintain high-quality food presentation and portioning.
  • Ensure all food safety regulations are followed, including proper storage and handling of food.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food, equipment, and supplies.
  • Ensure station/department set-ups and breakdowns are completed properly before and after shifts.
  • Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and ordering supplies to maintain a smooth operation.
  • Enforce food safety and sanitation standards in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health department regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, workstations, and storage areas.
  • Maintain accurate records of food and supply orders, as well as any incidents or accidents that occur in the kitchen.
  • Communication and participation in plate-up and buffet presentation and service.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by management.

  • 2-3 years of previous experience in a supervisory or lead role in a kitchen or culinary environment.
  • Culinary degree and relevant certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen equipment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work different shifts, which may include holidays, evenings, and weekends.
  • Comfortable working in an indoor/outdoor environment.
