Golden Era is a growing, relationship-centered company creating a new kind of experience for older adults—one built around meaningful connection, shared interests, curiosity, and enjoying life.

We thoughtfully match older adults with exceptional Connection Partners for consistent, personalized time together each week.

This is not traditional home care, and Connection Partners are not hired to provide personal or medical care. Instead, they build genuine relationships with the people they are matched with—through conversation, shared interests, outings, activities, and simply spending meaningful time together.

As one of our early Connection Partners, you'll have the opportunity to be part of an exciting and distinctive new company as we grow throughout Westchester and surrounding communities.

What Might You Do Together?

Every relationship is different because every person is different.

You might:

• Have lunch at a favorite restaurant
• Look through old photos and share stories
• Visit a museum, gallery, garden, farmers market, or local event
• Take a walk or explore a new neighborhood
• Cook or bake together
• Play cards, Canasta, Mahjong, or a favorite game
• Attend a class, lecture, concert, or performance
• Shop or run an enjoyable errand together
• Help with different tasks - including tech help
• Talk about books, current events, travel, art, food, family, or life
• Visit a farming market
• Help someone revisit an old interest—or discover a new one
• Simply enjoy a great conversation at home

There is no prescribed agenda. The experience is shaped around the interests, personality, and preferences of the person you're matched with.

Who Makes a Great Connection Partner?

There is no single professional background we're looking for.

Our Connection Partners may come from education, social work, business, the arts, hospitality, healthcare, nonprofit work, design, communications, recreation, or entirely different careers.

You may be retired, semi-retired, working part-time, or simply looking for meaningful and flexible work alongside your current career.

What matters most is who you are.

We're looking for people who are:

• Warm, engaging, and genuinely interested in others
• Excellent conversationalists and thoughtful listeners
• Curious about people and their lives
• Dependable and comfortable making an ongoing weekly commitment
• Comfortable spending time independently with an older adult
• Interested in activities, culture, food, travel, books, art, music, current events, nature, fitness, games, or other pursuits
• Able to build a natural relationship while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
• Reliable, responsible, and trustworthy

Experience with older adults is highly valued, whether through your career, volunteer work, community involvement, or personal life.

Bachelor's degree preferred.

The Golden Era Difference

We don't simply assign the next available person to a client.

We consider personality, interests, communication style, geography, availability, and lifestyle when creating a match. Connection Partners generally spend time with the same person each week, allowing a genuine relationship to develop over time.

When a potential match is identified, we'll discuss the opportunity with you before the relationship begins.

Driving & Transportation

Connection Partners must:

• Have a valid driver's license
• Have access to a reliable vehicle
• Maintain current automobile insurance
• Be comfortable driving a client locally when appropriate
• Be willing to complete a motor vehicle record check

Location

We are currently recruiting Connection Partners throughout Westchester County, including the Rivertowns, Lower Westchester, Central Westchester, and Northern Westchester.

We are especially interested in candidates who can reliably travel within their local area for an ongoing weekly relationship.

Screening & Selection

Because Connection Partners develop trusted one-on-one relationships with our clients, Golden Era has a thoughtful selection process.

Candidates who move forward may be asked to participate in an interview, provide professional or personal references, and complete background and motor vehicle record screenings.
