Job description

About Sony Music Entertainment
At Sony Music Entertainment, we fuel the creative journey. We've played a pioneering role in music history, from the first-ever music label to the invention of the flat disc record. We've nurtured some of music's most iconic artists and produced some of the most influential recordings of all time.
Today, we work in more than 70 countries, supporting a diverse roster of international superstars, developing and independent artists, and visionary creators. In everything we do, we're committed to artistic integrity, transparency, and entrepreneurship.
Sony Music Entertainment is a member of the Sony family of global companies.
AWAL is the world's best home for independent artists at every stage of their career. We have revolutionized the recording business by putting artists at the center of everything we do and transforming the way they release music. AWAL operates across two foundational propositions: a record label that takes a hands-on approach to developing artists as partners, and a distribution service that provides resources and best practices to help artists break through. Together, this makes AWAL a world-class record label built on top of a distribution foundation.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about music, artist development, and the independent ecosystem, and who thrives in a fast-paced, artist-facing environment. In addition to being a key point of contact for existing relationships, this role will also support new artist acquisition efforts.
What you'll do:
• Manage day-to-day support and relationships for a roster of distribution artists and their teams
• Guide artists through onboarding, release setup, platform tools, and operational workfl ows
• Respond to artist questions across release management, DSP delivery, royalties, metadata, content claims, and platform functionality
• Help artists navigate best practices around release strategy, pitching timelines, and audience growth
• Monitor artist activity and performance to identify engagement, retention, or growth opportunities
• Escalate high-priority issues, growth signals, or partnership opportunities internally when appropriate
• Support release readiness by ensuring artists are properly set up ahead of launches
• Collaborate cross-functionally with support, operations, product, marketing, and analytics teams to advocate for artist needs
• Support the overall artist experience across AWAL's scaled support channels, including community moderation, Help Center content, webinars, and artist education materials
• Stay informed on music industry trends, DSP updates, and emerging artist behavior across the independent landscape
Who you are:
• 1-3 years of experience in music, media, customer success, account management, operations, or artist support
• Strong communication and relationship management skills
• Highly organized and comfortable managing a high volume of artists and requests simultaneously
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, solution-oriented approach to identifying opportunities and solving problems
• Curious and adaptable, with a willingness to embrace new tools, technologies, and ways of working to improve effi ciency and artist outcomes
• Passionate about music, artist development, and the independent ecosystem
• Familiarity with DSPs, music distribution, release strategy, or artist marketing is a plus
• Comfortable working cross-functionally in fast-moving environments
• Curious, solutions-oriented, and proactive in identifying opportunities to improve the artist experience
What we give you:
  • You join an inclusive, collaborative and global community where you have the opportunity to channel your passion every day
  • A modern office environment designed to foster productivity, creativity, and teamwork empowering you to bring your best
  • An attractive and comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life & disability coverage, and 401K + employer matching
