Job Summary

The Art Fabricator (also known as Artisan Maker) is a skilled craftsperson responsible for creating high-quality, handmade products and creative elements that enhance guest experiences across Rock City Enterprises’ locations and brands. This role utilizes traditional craftsmanship, creative problem-solving, and modern tools to fabricate unique, durable, and visually compelling pieces for permanent installations, seasonal programming, and special events. Under the direction of the Art Manager, the Artisan Maker supports the Innovation Team through hands-on creation, installation, and maintenance of artistic elements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Craftsmanship & Creative Production

· Create handmade products using traditional and contemporary artisanal techniques.

· Demonstrate exceptional craftsmanship with strong attention to detail and quality.

· Work with a wide range of materials including wood, metal, ceramics, glass, concrete, textiles, paper, stone, and mixed media.

· Cut, shape, mold, assemble, and finish materials using hand tools, power tools, machinery, and fabrication equipment.

· Develop and refine product designs, patterns, templates, and prototypes.

· Use computer software to create and modify designs and visualizations.

· Experiment with new techniques, materials, and processes to enhance creativity and innovation.

Collaboration & Project Support

· Collaborate with Innovation Team members to understand creative intent, project requirements, and customization needs.

· Assist with the construction, installation, teardown, repair, renovation, and storage of permanent and seasonal attraction elements.

· Support the setup, breakdown, and storage of seasonal programming, special events, and guest experience enhancements across Rock City Enterprises locations.

Quality Control & Inventory

· Implement rigorous quality control standards throughout fabrication and finishing processes.

· Inspect completed work for defects and make adjustments to meet quality expectations.

· Manage inventory of materials, tools, and supplies; track usage and reorder materials to avoid production delays.

· Maintain detailed records of materials used, processes followed, and customization details.

Safety & Operations

· Adhere to all safety guidelines, procedures, and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

· Properly use, maintain, and store tools and equipment.

· Deliver excellent guest service to internal and external partners in alignment with Rock City Enterprises’ mission, culture, and values.

· Model professional, respectful, and collaborative partner interactions at all times.

· Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

Qualifications

Education & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, Trade School certification, or equivalent on-the-job training preferred.

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional maker, fabrication, or artisan environment required.

· Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Knowledge & Skills

· Strong ability to work from build plans, drawings, and concept visualizations to produce accurate final products.

· High level of craftsmanship, creativity, and problem-solving ability.

· Excellent time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines independently.

· Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

· Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

· Superior attention to detail and quality control.

· Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Strong basic math skills, including working with measurements and U.S. currency.

Licenses & Certifications

· Valid driver’s license with a good driving record required.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

· Regular use of hands and fingers.

· Ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

· Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

· Ability to stand for extended periods.

· Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
