Job Overview

We are seeking a driven, passionate Sr 3D Artist who takes pride in their craft and is motivated by producing world-class work. In this role, you will create stunning, photorealistic product renders that position the ZAGG and mophie brands at a premium level—imagery that doesn’t just showcase our products, but elevates them. This role will report to the Associate Creative Director of Photo amp; Video. The ideal candidate brings both technical mastery and an artist’s eye, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is energized by the challenge of setting a new bar with every render they produce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Image Generation: Light, texture, position, compose and render photorealistic, premium-quality images that communicate the value and craftsmanship of ZAGG’s products and set us apart from the competition. Every render should feel high-end, intentional, and brand-right.
  • Communicate: Overcome production roadblocks by connecting with sources of truth.
  • Obtain, Create amp; Edit CAD: Use modeling software to create or manipulate CAD geometry that is accurate to life and is compatible with Keyshot and other 3D software as needed.
  • Track Industry Closely: Stay on the cutting edge of cell phone device manufacturer rumors, leaks and releases and create/update 3D models that reflect the best information available.
  • Ai: Be familiar with and implement Ai technologies to speed up or improve workflow and output.
  • Trend Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate them into the creative process where relevant.
  • Collaboration: Work with 3D team, photo/video teammates, designers and others to complete work successfully. Contribute to a supportive and creative working environment.
  • Protect Assets: Maintain backups of all work in an organized storage system.
  • Data Asset Management: Properly tag all uploaded work to ensure easy location and utilization by teams. Keep all CAD and working files in a central location, organized and easy to navigate.
  • Continuous Improvement: Look for better ways to do things and provide recommendations. Maintain an appetite for learning and regularly pursue opportunities to develop professional skills.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in 3D, or a related field, with a preference for online retail and channel-driven partnerships.
  • Expert in 3D image production requirements (online and channel partners)
  • An ability to create concepts to articulate, inform, and validate ideas with stakeholders and channel partners (e.g., storyboards, wireframes, sketches, shot lists).
  • A driven, positive attitude with a genuine passion for the craft of 3D artistry, a love of constructive feedback, and a desire to do their best work every single day.
  • Experience with 3D animation and motion is a plus—the ability to bring product renders to life through movement is a growing priority for our team.
  • Strong understanding of design principles, visual storytelling, and brand identity.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in 3D software including Keyshot as well as Maya, Blender or similar.
  • A degree in fine arts or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates exceptional taste, mastery of lighting and materials, and the ability to produce high-end, premium product imagery. Portfolio should include product renders that convey quality, aspiration, and a clear point of view.
