Job Description
The Property Maintenance Technician maintains assigned properties in a safe, attractive, and comfortable condition. This role performs corrective, preventive, and emergency maintenance across electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, and building systems, and assists with other maintenance tasks as needed. The technician works closely with residents, tenants, and internal teams to ensure a well-maintained, clean, and functional environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the entire assigned property in a safe, attractive, and comfortable condition at all times.
- Perform corrective maintenance on building systems, equipment, and fixtures, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC components.
- Carry out preventive maintenance tasks to reduce equipment failures and extend the life of property systems and appliances.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly and effectively to ensure safety and minimize disruption for residents and tenants.
- Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions, including troubleshooting issues and replacing or repairing components as needed.
- Diagnose and repair plumbing malfunctions, including leaks, clogs, and fixture issues.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical malfunctions on equipment and building systems.
- Perform drywall repairs, including patching, sanding, and preparing surfaces for painting or finishing.
- Perform carpentry repairs, including minor framing, trim work, door and cabinet repairs, and other structural adjustments.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC systems and various appliances, ensuring proper operation and comfort levels.
- Install, remove, and relocate appliances as needed within and between buildings.
- Move, transport, and position appliances, equipment, products, and furniture safely in buildings or to other buildings.
- Collaborate with managers, principals, owners, and office team members to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper storage of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Exhibit and follow exceptional safety habits, including adhering to safety procedures and using appropriate protective measures.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Madison, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
