Job description

Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph required
Apogee is seeking an AI SME. This candidate will have frequent client interactions, and support system and mission strategy development across the various ground offices. The candidate will have daily interactions with the customer and support contractors and will need to follow customer standards and processes as the program matures through the life cycle. The candidate will interact with multiple Acquisition Offices (AOs) and support technical consultation, meeting coordination, and recommendation briefings. Position
  • Works with the Government program leads for ideation and execution of AI/ML or Deep Learning (DL) solutions to meet mission needs
  • Advise senior Government leads on the opportunities and limitations of various AI/ML capabilities and provide recommendations for technical approaches and designs with associated tradeoffs
  • Assist in the validation and assessment of models currently in production
  • Integrate new systems and initiatives in support of customer/mission partner requirements and work directly with our developers and users in operations
  • Understand system-to-system interfaces and act as an Integrator
  • Monitor system and segment schedules, recognize dependencies
  • Aiding in meeting facilitation and information sessions

Required
  • Requires a technical degree: 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD
  • Extensive Intelligence Community knowledge and work history
  • Expert understanding of the opportunities and limitations of various AI/ML capabilities and model types
  • Experience with all aspects of the AI/ML pipeline, including data preparation and processing, feature generation, training and validation, deployment to production and performance monitoring
  • Previous experience as a System Engineer, Software Engineer or System Integrator
  • Strong project management skills and ability to quickly/concisely brief project status to senior leadership
  • Candidate will be required to sign and adhere to Non-Disclosure Agreement(s) and (2) Confidential Agreement and Conflict of Interest Certification
  • Extensive experience with Agile process and deliveries of new capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills, multi-task and lead several projects simultaneously
