We create identities that are unmistakably Apple, rooted in the DNA of its products and experiences, and expressed with simplicity, elegance, and purpose.

Description

The Art Director crafts identities and identity‑led campaigns for Apple’s services, products, and events—bringing ideas to life through conceptual rigor, hands‑on ideation, and systems thinking.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute brand identities and identity‑led campaigns from initial concept through final production.
  • Build scalable identity systems that support multiple campaigns, ensuring consistency, clarity, and creative excellence across applications.
  • Translate strategic briefs into clear, compelling design concepts grounded in strong conceptual thinking and systematic design.
  • Art‑direct external partners including vendors, illustrators, photographers, and graphic designers, providing clear guidance and actionable feedback.
  • Contribute to presentations and reviews, synthesize feedback, and refine work to align with creative and strategic goals.
  • Collaborate across functions and manage personal workload across concurrent projects to deliver high‑quality work on schedule.
  • Ensure excellence in craft across typography, color, composition, imagery and visual systems.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience building brand identities and campaigns, with design as a core discipline.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong design principles, art direction, typography, color, and visual communication across identity or campaign work.
  • Industry experience as a designer and art director, contributing to the creative development process from concept to final production.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Strong understanding of how identity systems scale and translate across multiple applications, formats, and contexts.
  • Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent industry experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Outstanding conceptual design and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience pitching and executing original design concepts from ideation through final delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop cohesive visual languages and extend them across multi‑channel campaigns and applications.
  • Experience designing within established brand systems, with strong instincts for where to push and where to stay consistent.
  • Strong visual storytelling instinct—able to use imagery, typography, and composition to communicate ideas with clarity and purpose.
  • Skilled collaborator—earns trust quickly, engages confidently with competing creative perspectives, and builds alignment without diluting the work.
  • Clear communicator, able to articulate a strong rationale for creative decisions in presentations and reviews.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working toward a clear direction without a fully defined brief.
  • Versatility across brand identity and campaign design, combining systematic thinking with high‑level craft.
