Build One of Colorado's Most Distinctive Destination Art Galleries!

Joy & Wylde is seeking an experienced art professional who knows how to build an art business. Our gallery has developed an exceptional reputation and loyal following. We are now looking for someone with the experience, relationships, and entrepreneurial drive to elevate our art program into one of the premier destination galleries in the Rocky Mountain West.

This role is approximately 90% dedicated to growing our art business and 10% supporting the broader Joy & Wylde experience.

Your Mission

Develop and execute a strategy that significantly grows fine art sales by expanding our artist roster, cultivating collectors, building referral networks, creating compelling exhibitions, and positioning Joy & Wylde as a destination gallery worthy of repeated visits.

Responsibilities

Gallery Growth & Business Development

• Develop and execute a strategic plan for expanding art sales.
• Recruit exceptional emerging and established artists whose work aligns with the Joy & Wylde brand.
• Build long-term relationships with collectors throughout Colorado and beyond.
• Cultivate relationships with interior designers, architects, luxury home builders, developers, art consultants, and corporate buyers.
• Develop partnerships with hotels, private clubs, luxury vacation properties, concierges, and tourism organizations.
• Create and manage a collector outreach and follow-up program

Curatorial Leadership

• Curate exhibitions that create excitement and drive sales.
• Plan and execute exhibition openings, artist receptions, lectures, demonstrations, and collector events.
• Develop compelling stories around artists and their work that inspire purchasing.

Art Sales

• Confidently sell original artwork across a broad range of price points.
• Guide first-time buyers while nurturing experienced collectors.
• Build long-term relationships that generate repeat purchases.
• Follow up on inquiries and develop private sales opportunities.

Gallery Leadership

• Work with ownership to establish annual sales goals and growth strategies.
• Monitor artist performance and inventory.
• Recommend pricing strategies and merchandising improvements.
• Help shape the long-term artistic direction and reputation of the gallery.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has demonstrated experience growing an art business.
• Understands both the artistic and commercial sides of a successful gallery.
• Is comfortable discussing artistic technique with a collector, negotiating with an established artist, planning an exhibition, or meeting with an interior designer sourcing artwork for a luxury home.

Preferred Experience

• 5+ years fine art gallery leadership or art sales
• Demonstrated history of increasing gallery sales
• Existing relationships within the art community
• Experience planning exhibitions and opening receptions
• Knowledge of collector cultivation and client relationship management
• Passion for art, design, architecture, and craftsmanship

Compensation

This position is designed for a high-performing art professional.

Compensation includes:

• $50-$70K Annual Salary
• 5-7.5% Commission on Net Proceeds
• • Including uncapped commission on art sales
  • Performance bonuses tied to gallery growth
• Opportunity to help shape the future direction of a rapidly growing destination gallery

Exceptional candidates should expect total annual compensation well into six figures as the gallery grows.

Joy & Wylde is a boutique, art gallery, café and gathering place located alongside the Crystal River in historic Redstone, Colorado. We offer a highly curated collection of home décor, jewelry, gifts, artisan goods and fine art alongside specialty coffee, café fare, wine and cocktails. Guests can explore the boutique and gallery, enjoy food and drinks, attend special events, or simply relax alongside the river on our lawn. We represent exceptional artists while welcoming visitors from Aspen, Snowmass, Vail, Telluride, and around the world.
