WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; credential or degree requirements differ by level (see below)
  • Certification: Adult, Child, and Infant CPR within 6 months of hire; background check required prior to employment
  • Experience: Experience working with children ages 3-5, preferably in a licensed childcare setting
  • Professional Competencies: Strong listening, oral, and written communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Language: Bilingual Spanish or Hmong preferred - multilingual capabilities are a valued strength in our classrooms

Level II: Completion of a Preschool Credential, Child Development Associate (CDA), or an Associate's/Bachelor's degree in any field plus completion of Introduction to Child Care Profession (or equivalent ECE coursework)
Level III: Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, or a related Associate's/Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 18 ECE credits, including practicum and coursework such as music, art, or intervention therapy
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Preschool Teacher Aide, you'll support a nurturing, high-quality early learning environment by:
  • Partnering with the Lead Teacher to implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and daily activities aligned with Head Start Performance Standards
  • Supervising children closely at all times, maintaining safe, clean, and organized classroom and outdoor spaces
  • Building warm, consistent relationships with each child to support social-emotional development, positive guidance, and self-regulation
  • Engaging with families respectfully and regularly - sharing observations, connecting to resources, and supporting the Family Partnership Agreement process
  • Assisting in observing and documenting each child's development, including data entry into assessment systems and support for IEPs and behavior/medical plans (Level III)
  • Welcoming and collaborating with mental health consultants, special education providers, and family services staff as part of an integrated support team
  • Participating in home visits, parent conferences, and family engagement events as requested
