Job description

Position Summary

We are searching for Pipe Yard Helpers in South Main (Houston, TX) to perform an array of functions that you will be tasked with an array of functions that may include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing and retrieving stock in the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to organizational standards
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat, sweep, dust, and mop. Always organize warehouse and work area for orderliness
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely

Qualifications & Skills

  • 1 to 2 years of warehouse related experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Excellent work ethic; ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player
  • Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed
  • Steel toed boots required
  • Experience with Carbon Flanges and Fittings a plus
  • Experience on Sit-Down Forklift, Stand-up Reach Truck or Picker preferred
  • Previous pipe yard experience highly preferred.
  • Must be willing to work outside.
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects 1-15 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
  • Required PPE: Steel toe shoes
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus

Employment Type & Compensation

  • This is a Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire position
  • Pay rate is $18.00 per hour
  • Application Window: Open until filled

  • 1st Shift | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
