Job Objectives:
To have the requirements listed in Minimum Qualifications, Responsibilities and Essential Functions and Skills and abilities
Minimum Qualifications:
Possess the following qualifications:
  • Be of good moral character and have the mentality, positive personality, physical appearance and condition, hearing, and neatness required for favorable representation of the program and the Army in daily contact with the civilian community
  • Have a thorough knowledge of course subject matter and demonstrate the instructional ability required to be a successful instructor
  • Demonstrate the professional ability to challenge, motivate and influence you women and young men to learn and develop leadership, self-reliance, responsiveness to constituted authority, moral attributes, and attributes of good citizenship and patriotism
  • Possess personal qualities, characteristics, and job or duty performances as listed in efficiency reports that reflect professionalism, dedication, efficiency, effectiveness, and performance as members of the Active Army in an equivalent grade
  • Must hold or be able to obtain (CNAC) Childcare National Agency Investigative check clearance
  • Demonstrate conduct that is and has been above reproach; must have no personal habits or character traits that are questionable from a security or social standpoint, i.e (financial irresponsibility, excessive drinking or gambling, drug addiction, emotional instability.)
  • Must be retired with at least 20 years of active duty and have attained the pay grade of O3 to O6.
  • Be certified by Cadet Command and available for hiring.
  • Have not been retired from active duty more than 3 years at the time of the initial qualification for a JROTC position.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
  • In addition to the requirements of A above, JROTC instructors employed by the school must maintain standards and have qualifications that are established and approved by the school.
  • In addition to the above, the applicant should be able to accomplish the following:
  • Coordinate logistics and training for Cadet Challenge (JROTC physical training). Be accomplished in CPR and first aid.
  • Be knowledgeable in supply procedures and hand receipts.
  • Coordinate and conduct the annual awards presentation.
  • Be available for after school and weekend duty to include color guard, drill team, physical fitness and ROTC Summer Camp.
  • Coordinate with Fort Sill DPT/M for training support requirements.
  • Coordinate social activities for cadets throughout the year.
  • Assist with administration of the cadet program that includes supply, training and personnel records.
  • Coordinate scholarships and academy nominations as required.
  • Assist cadets in areas of S1, S2, S3, S4, and S5 Public Affairs Office (PAO).
  • Be able to drive a school bus and obtain a CDL.
  • Other duties as assigned.
