What can I do in the military with a CDL?

What is the difference between Army CDL vs Commercial Truck Driver?

AspectArmy CDLCommercial Truck Driver

Both roles require CDL certification, but the Army CDL emphasizes military procedures and equipment, whereas civilian truck drivers focus on commercial regulations and freight delivery.

Will the Army pay for CDL?

The Army does not typically pay for Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training directly, but it may provide specialized driving training and certifications as part of military service. Soldiers often receive training on military vehicles, and some programs may support obtaining a civilian CDL for post-service employment. Eligibility and benefits vary based on specific military programs and service branches.
