Position Title: Security Analyst

Duties and Responsibilities

The Security Analyst supports this Transportation Security Administration Information Technology (TSA IT) Task Order (TO) by executing security testing in a variety of combinations to accommodate the complex testing needs of the organization. Duties include the following:

  • Conducts the RFC review & recommendation activities, distributes and maintain the lifecycle of an RFC that requires the support of separate teams to determine the recommendation for approval.
  • Supports RFC review & recommendation activities of a non-standard nature as they are identified to provide a benefit to the Information Assurance & Cybersecurity Division's (IAD's) security testing requirements.
  • Becomes familiar with Federal, DHS, and TSA policy so that PAD concepts that may conflict with policy items can be identified more easily.
  • Whenever such a conflict is identified, it should explicitly be called out, including specific policy document and item references, to IAD SME representatives.
  • Conducts the project authorization review & recommendation. Reviews Project Authorization Documents as they are made available and in advance of weekly PAD review meetings and identify security concerns or considerations to discuss during the meetings.
  • Collaborate with PAD stakeholders to gather any additional information lacking from the PAD itself which may provide useful clarifications for consideration while reviewing the PAD and making security recommendations.
  • Supports project authorization review & recommendation activities of a non-standard nature as they are identified to provide a benefit to IAD's security testing requirements.

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • At least five (5) years of experience performing security assessments.
  • At least three (3) years of experience performing security assessments of Windows and Linux operating systems, databases, network devices, and wireless components.
  • At least two (2) years of Change or Configuration Management.
  • Ability to work independently/minimal oversight.
  • Required Certifications: CISSP, CEH or other relevant certifications.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and technical writing skills to be able to document findings in reports.
  • Familiar with Technology Information Library (ITIL) Framework.
