Position Summary

The operations Changeover Crew is primarily responsible for the changeover in the arena and performing arts center from one event to another. Additionally, a member of the Changeover Crew may be involved in other aspects of building maintenance to include painting, trash disposal, exterior facility care, snow removal, furniture moving, etc. This responsibility requires physical labor and heavy lifting and therefore has lifting requirements. The Changeover Crew is a vital component of the arena and performing arts center in responding to the needs of promoters and clients-a positive attitude and a positive appearance are essential. 

This role pays an hourly rate of $16.75

Responsibilities
  • Participate in all aspects of the conversion process for events.
  • Setting up and tearing down flooring, hockey glass, chairs, barricades, staging, tables, and other furnishings and equipment. 
  • Responsible for the physical setup of all areas around the Arena, including chairs, tables, staging, furnishings and equipment for sporting and live events
  • Responding to promoters'/clients' needs as directed by the onsite building manager.
  • Assist, when necessary, with pre/post event cleaning, including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, and carpet cleaning. 
  • Wear proper PPE work boots and gloves for all shifts.
  • Maintain outside grounds, including parking areas, entrances, and the event plaza.
  • Snow removal of the outside areas as needed. 
  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, such as painting, patching, and other conversion-related operational equipment.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with other departments, clients, and patrons encountered in the course of employment. 
  • Work effectively under pressure and stringent schedules to produce accurate results. 
  • Actively care for all arena equipment and property by storing, cleaning, and maintaining changeover equipment
  • Respond and resolve set-up issues promptly as directed by fellow staff and management
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience with event changeovers a plus.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to perform all essential duties and responsibilities in a satisfactory manner.
  • Ability to work under deadlines dictated by event schedules and project timetables. 
  • Ability to work independently and as a team. 
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others. 
  • Must be adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights, and holidays as required. 
  • Must be able to get in and around the facility, bending, lifting, carrying, moving, climbing, and working from various heights in an environment with moderate to loud noises. 
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects.
  • Must be able to work in a manner that is safe and effective.
