OPERATIONS MANAGER

Jani-King — Washington DC Region  |  Fairfax, VA

Lead with Expertise. Drive Operational Excellence. Build Lasting Relationships.

Jani-King International is the global leader in commercial cleaning franchising, with over 6,500 franchisees and 120 regional offices worldwide. For more than 55 years, we've partnered with top organizations across healthcare, education, hospitality, stadiums, government, retail, and more — delivering professional cleaning services and unmatched customer satisfaction.

We are seeking a motivated Operations Manager to join our Washington DC Regional Office. This role is central to ensuring client satisfaction and operational success across the greater Washington metropolitan area. You'll work directly with franchise owners and clients, ensuring services meet expectations, new accounts launch smoothly, and local operations align with brand standards.

POSITION SUMMARY

As an Operations Manager, you'll be the bridge between franchise owners, clients, and regional leadership. You'll strengthen customer relationships, guide franchise owners in delivering services that meet brand standards, and provide operational support for new business. This role combines fieldwork and client interaction with office-based planning and reporting. It's a hands-on position where your influence and expertise will help drive customer retention, service quality, and regional growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strengthen Client Relationships: Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts, building trust through regular communication and responsive support.
  • Support Quality and Brand Standards: Conduct brand reviews with franchise owners, recommend improvements, and ensure services align with client expectations.
  • Guide Account Startups: Help coordinate smooth launches of new accounts by supporting franchise owners with resources and operational planning.
  • Provide Operational Expertise: Share best practices in cleaning methods, floor care, and specialty services to ensure quality results.
  • Partner with Sales: Join walkthroughs and proposals to provide operational input and ensure commitments match service capabilities.
  • Monitor Performance: Track account activity and outcomes, providing insights that support continuous improvement.
  • Promote Safety and Compliance: Reinforce company policies, OSHA requirements, and customer-specific standards across accounts.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 4+ years of management experience in the commercial cleaning industry
  • Strong background in client relations and negotiations
  • Technical expertise in floor care and specialty services
  • Proven ability to influence, coach, and motivate others
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Flexibility to work one Saturday per month, at least one evening per month, and additional nights or weekends as business needs require
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable personal transportation for travel throughout the DC region

????  Competitive Compensation

$80,000 – $90,000/year (DOE) + performance bonuses

Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid vacation, paid holidays, and more

WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING HERE

  • Reputation & Reach: Join the most recognized name in commercial cleaning franchising.
  • Impact: Play a key role in client satisfaction and franchise success.
  • Growth Potential: Advance within a global organization.
  • Support & Training: Access to proven systems, resources, and mentorship.
  • Culture: Be part of a collaborative, energetic regional team.

LOCATION & WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is based at our Jani-King Washington DC Regional Office:

11351 Random Hills Road

You'll spend time in the office working with regional leadership, but much of your role will be out across the DC metro area meeting with clients and supporting franchise owners. This is not a desk-bound role — expect a mix of planning, fieldwork, and face-to-face engagement.

We foster a team-oriented, fast-paced environment where collaboration is encouraged, leadership is accessible, and your contributions directly influence regional success.
