Job description

Hardware Sustaining, Lead - Onsite Position

We're looking for highly motivatedHardware Sustaining, Lead at our world class facility inOttawa, ON!

As our Hardware Sustaining, Lead, you will provide Engineering support for all aspects of production fromsupporting the Debug and Repairfacility toaddressing issues with Manufacturing Test Equipment.You'll also be involved withtechnical investigationsthat vary from field reported issues to yield improvements in production. Lastly, you'llsupport the R&D team with test setups and scripting to automate test.

Location:Ottawa, ON

Salary:$90,300 - $120,400 plus bonus opportunity

Your Challenge:

  • Debug and test new embedded productsat the forefront of technology.

  • Keep current with embedded hardware trends and share knowledge.

  • Support and enhanceexisting embedded products.

  • Championtest automationfor embedded products.

  • Apply established development processes andassist in process improvements.

  • Generate complete and accurateuser and design documentation.

  • Provide input and evaluation of new technologies and products.

  • Contribute to the release of manufacturingtechnical data packagesfor products.

  • Participate in maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere within the team.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or Technologist Diploma in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (and/or equivalent experience).

  • Strong debug and problem-solving skills.

  • 10+ yearsBoard level development and hands on lab experience(CO-OP Experience is applicable).

  • Be a driven and motivated self-starter with a keen interest to learn.

  • Strong understanding of electronics and engineering principals and application to real world use.

  • Experience intest automation with Python.

  • Results-oriented team player who leads by example, holds themselves accountable for performance, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and champions process improvement initiatives.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with a multi-disciplined team.

  • Familiar with a product development process.

  • Familiar with hardware test equipment -- logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.

  • Experience in basic electronics, electronics testing & debugging.

  • Familiarity with principles of high-speed digital circuit board design including signal integrity concepts.

  • Experience with CAD tools and/or test automation.

  • Experience with electronics soldering.

  • Hobby projects with Raspberry Pi/Arduino/LabJack.

  • Familiarity with VME, VPX, compact PCI, PMC/XMC mezzanines, PCIe, RapidIO and VxWorks.

  • Scripting with Python.
