Job description

We are currently hiring a Architectural Project Manager for the Richmond, VA studio.
Project management experience in complex project types is preferred. This leadership position requires a personable candidate with extensive experience in client service, business metrics, and successful outcomes. Prior experience working for an Architectural/Engineering Consultant related firm is required. The candidate should have strong interpersonal and leadership skills along with the ability to work with large teams and delegate. Client and consultant coordination, budgeting and scheduling is required.

Duties:

The Architectural Division at LaBella provides comprehensive planning and design services for a wide variety of markets, including State Corrections, Healthcare, K-12 and Higher Education, Residential, Commercial, and Municipal.
The overall expectations of the Project Manager position are to work with large project teams, including outside subconsultants, to ensure that all aspects of the project are being met and completed. The Project Manager is responsible for leading an entire full-service project, from budget to implementation. The Project Manager oversees architecturally led projects from the conception stage through construction and the eventual completion of the project, making sure that project teams meet quality, schedule, contractual, and budget goals.
A successful candidate will be self-motivated with the ability to lead, communicate, coordinate, and motivate. A successful candidate will also possess strong interpersonal, collaboration, and organizational skills, as well as contribute to a positive work environment.
Lead team in planning work and developing solutions to technical and design detail problems.


Supervise preparation of technical drawings by the design team.


Prepare client presentations and present design concepts and drawings.


Ensure that construction detail documentation conforms to QA/QC and LaBella standards.


Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.


Mentor and direct the work of the project team; foster a collaborative working relationship.


Communicate with client representatives to verify design requirements and specifications.


Responsible for technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project.


Develop solutions to design problems.


Attend on-site visits, field reviews, and project meetings and documents appropriately. Prepares, coordinates, and reviews the schedules and submission of shop drawings and samples.


Responsible for communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements and provide support as necessary.


Participate in team meetings to help resolve project issues, coordination with other disciplines, schedule adherence, and technical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelors/Master’s degree in Architecture.

• 8+ years Architecture Experience.

• Must be proficient in Revit.

• Licensure preferred but not required.
