Job description

Overview
The Structural/Architectural Revit Technician is responsible for developing high-quality models and detailed construction documents using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD. This role supports structural and architectural design efforts for self-storage building systems.
Responsibilities
  • Implement and manage Revit standards for the department.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Produce accurate BIM models and 2D construction drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Interpret architectural, structural, and engineering documents to create coordinated construction sets.
  • Review specifications, blueprints, and contracts to support accurate design output.
  • Apply building code knowledge, including egress, ADA, and fire separation, in documentation.
  • Draft plans, elevations, sections, and details for structural systems.
  • Generate shop drawings, installation graphics, and connection details for field clarity.
  • Create bills of materials and perform quantity take-offs from Revit models.
  • Support engineers and collaborate with other disciplines throughout the project cycle.
  • Participate in coordination meetings and assist in resolving design issues.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in architectural or Structural Engineering Technology is preferred.
  • 1 year of experience in structural drafting or BIM role using Autodesk Revit.
  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD; strong understanding of structural detailing and drafting principles.
  • Experience supporting structural engineers on steel-framed buildings, especially cold-formed steel systems.
  • Working knowledge of hot-rolled steel, concrete, and masonry construction and detailing required.
  • Ability to interpret and coordinate with structural, architectural, and MEP documentation.
  • Familiarity with applicable building codes and standards.
  • Strong communication and organization skills; able to work independently or within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Experience in BIM coordination is preferred.
