Job description

Our Panama City studio is seeking a full-time Architect to serve as a firmwide resource supporting projects across our Georgia and Florida offices. This role will contribute to a diverse portfolio ranging from small to large-scale, complex projects across multiple commercial market sectors. The ideal candidate will provide technical expertise, design leadership, and project management throughout the entire project lifecycle—from concept and design through construction documentation and construction administration. This individual will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Principals, consultants, and clients. In addition, this role will involve mentoring emerging professionals, ensure the successful delivery of high-quality projects, and contribute to building a positive office culture. This position requires preferred candidates to be licensed. This role reports directly to the Panama City Office Leader.

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, by providing purpose, direction, and motivation.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, overseeing schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, accessibility standards, and sustainability requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and service.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address design, technical, and construction challenges.
  • Support construction administration activities, including site visits and responding to RFIs and submittals.
  • Mentor and supervise designers, and junior staff.
  • Assist and lead client presentations, proposals, and training of studio staff.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in a professional firm.
  • Professional Architect License/Registration preferred
  • Proficient in Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft products.
  • Strong technical expertise related to design and construction.

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management/project architect role.
  • Prior leadership experience managing a team of architectural designers.
  • Experience working on variety scale of multiple projects.
  • Strong business development and client management skills.
  • Prior work experience in education, multi-family, medical and hospitality sectors.

Compensation will be determined based on years of professional experience, licensure and credentials, specific expertise, ability to manage team members, client-facing skills, and complexity of past projects completed.

Consideration will only be given to candidates that submit a resume and portfolio. No calls or emails from third party recruiters.
