JV Girls Basketball Coach

Archbishop Edward McCarthy High School located in Southwest Ranches, Florida (Broward County) is looking to hire a qualified and experienced JV Girls Basketball Coach for the 2026-2027 season. This candidate performs all duties and responsibilities in alignment with the mission, vision, and tenets of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a Head JV coach and assist the Varsity head coach.
  • Develop teamwork, morale, sportsmanship, fair play and foster a strong adherence to rules of training and conduct.
  • Assume the responsibility in the development of the JV team within the total program, under the direction of the Head Varsity Coach.
  • Assist the Head varsity coach in carrying out his/her duties.
  • Attend all scheduled practices and games and is responsible for his/her athletes' behavior and safety at all times while under the supervision of the coach.
Qualifications:
  • Previous High school coaching experience and high school and/or college playing experience.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of basketball systems of play, knowledge of training and conditioning techniques and the ability to diagnose player deficiencies and prescribe corrective activities to promote the success of the student-athlete.
  • Understanding that the players are student athletes and foster an understanding for a high level of academics.
  • Ability to properly communicate with student athletes, parents, and other coaches effectively.
  • Must be willing to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Must have a team player attitude, energetic, with a focus on excellent customer service.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Possess and maintain a moral character that is in congruence with the expectations of the Archdiocese of Miami and the Mission of Archbishop McCarthy High school.
