Arcade amp; Attraction Technician

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Position Type: Maintenance amp; Technical — Staff Level (Level 1) / Senior Staff (Level 2) / Lead Technical (Level 3)

Pay Range: $18 - 22/hr (Based off on experience)
Minimum Age Requirement: 18+

Position Summary

The Arcade amp; Attraction Technician maintains, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs arcade games, attractions, and related electrical, mechanical, and technical systems. The role keeps equipment safe, reliable, and ready for guests. Technicians are Level 1, 2, or 3 based on skill, experience, and responsibility. All levels report to the Maintenance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance

Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair arcade games, redemption equipment, attractions, ride systems, simulators, VR, laser tag, and related systems.

Complete preventative maintenance, calibrations, software updates, adjustments, and routine repairs.

Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, software, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues.

Keep accurate inspection, repair, maintenance, and parts records.

Safety amp; Operations

Monitor equipment and respond quickly to failures and guest-impacting issues.

Remove unsafe equipment from service and report concerns to the Maintenance Manager.

Keep safety devices, emergency systems, signage, and inspection records up to date.

Coordinate vendor support, warranty work, software support, and parts as needed.

Keep tools, work areas, and equipment clean, organized, and guest-ready.

Support POS, lighting, audio/visual, projectors, events, groups, and daily park operations as assigned.

Level Responsibilities

Level 1: Performs inspections, preventative maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and routine repairs with guidance.

Level 2: Independently handles complex repairs, coordinates vendors, assists with maintenance planning, and mentors Level 1 technicians.

Level 3: Leads technical work, manages vendor relationships, mentors technicians, supports major repairs and upgrades, and recommends equipment improvements.

Qualifications

  • 18+ years old with a high school diploma or GED; technical training or certifications preferred.
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills; ability to use manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with arcade, amusement, industrial, or similar equipment preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot motors, sensors, controls, electrical systems, software, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and with maintenance, operations, vendors, and leadership.
  • Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, peak periods, and on-call work for Level 2 and Level 3.

Work Environment amp; Physical Requirements

  • Hands-on environment requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and working around equipment and guests.
  • Work takes place in arcade and attraction areas, maintenance shops, mechanical rooms, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely work in indoor, outdoor, elevated, and confined areas as needed.
  • Regular interaction with the Maintenance Manager, operations team, vendors, and other technicians.
