What are arborists?

Arborists are professionals who specialize in the care, maintenance, and management of trees, shrubs, and other woody plants. They are trained to assess tree health, diagnose diseases or pests, and perform tasks such as pruning, tree removal, and planting. Arborists also provide advice on proper tree selection and care to promote healthy urban and natural environments. Their expertise helps ensure the safety, health, and longevity of trees in residential, commercial, and public spaces.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Arborist, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Arborist, you need a solid understanding of tree biology, pruning techniques, and pest identification, often backed by a degree in arboriculture or relevant certifications like ISA Certified Arborist. Experience with chainsaws, climbing equipment, and diagnostic tools is typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication help Arborists assess tree health and safely interact with clients and teams.
