Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and compassionate Qur’an and Arabic Teacher to

teach students in our Sunday School program. The teacher will help students develop

strong Qur’an reading and recitation skills, learn foundational Arabic, and build a positive

connection with Islamic teachings.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Qur’an reading, pronunciation, and proper Tajweed according to students’ levels.
  • Help students improve fluency, memorization, and recitation of selected Surahs.
  • Teach basic Arabic language skills, including vocabulary, reading, writing, and comprehension.
  • Prepare age-appropriate lessons and classroom activities.
  • Assess students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Encourage students to develop love and respect for the Qur’an and Islamic values.
  • Communicate appropriately with parents regarding students’ progress and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain regular attendance and follow the Sunday School curriculum and policies.
  • Support the overall goals and activities of the Sunday School program.

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to read and recite the Qur’an with proper Tajweed.
  • Good knowledge of basic Arabic.
  • Previous experience teaching Qur’an, Arabic, or Islamic studies is preferred.
  • Experience working with children is strongly preferred.
  • Patient, responsible, dependable, and able to manage a classroom effectively.
  • Ability to teach students with different learning levels and abilities.
  • Commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for children.
Requirements:

Schedule

Sunday School: 9:45- 2:30 

Mandatory to attend monthly meetings and teacher’s training program


Preferred Skills

  •    Tajweed certification or formal Qur’an education is a plus.
  •    Arabic teaching experience is a plus.
  •    Ability to communicate effectively with parents and students.
  •    Experience developing lesson plans and classroom activities.
