At Northeast College Prep, we believe every student has the potential for greatness. We're looking for a full-time Special Education Paraprofessional who's ready to make a real difference, someone who's patient, positive, and passionate about helping all kids thrive.
This is more than support, it's impact. You'll work closely with individual students and small groups, helping meet academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. You'll be a key part of a collaborative team committed to equity, inclusion, and high expectations.
Location: 300 Industrial Blvd NE, Minneapolis, MN
Starting Salary: $23.00-$28.00/hour + full benefits (pay based on experience; additional pay for fluent Spanish, Somali, or Arabic speaking staff)
What You'll Do
  • Provide daily support to students with IEPs in general education, specialist, and Setting III classrooms
  • Work 1:1 and in small groups to support academic and behavior goals
  • Collaborate with Special Education teachers, general educators, and support staff to create inclusive environments
  • Use tools like behavior charts and individualized interventions to help students grow
  • Model social-emotional skills and help students navigate challenges
  • Build strong relationships with students and help them build confidence
  • Contribute to a clean, safe, and welcoming school environment
  • Take part in professional development and coaching and use feedback to grow
  • Be on time, be consistent, and be a positive presence throughout the school day

Qualifications
Must-Haves:
  • At least 60 college credits or able to pass the MN Paraprofessional Test within 30 days of hire
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A strong desire to support students from diverse backgrounds
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Nice-to-Haves:
  • Bachelor's degree or Minnesota teaching/substitute license
  • Experience working with ESL and/or urban student populations
  • Familiarity with CPI, PCM, or other de-escalation training
  • Fluency or proficiency in Spanish, Somali, Arabic, Oromo, or Hmong
