Interprets at parent meetings, administers and scores language assessment tests; completes appropriate recoding of test results and parent notification forms; assists in translating or interpreting and performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Ability to fluently speak, read, and write English and one or more of the following target primary languages: Spanish, Arabic, Korean, Punjabi, Vietnamese or Mandarin; skill and accuracy in oral and written directions; ability to maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with children and adults. Interpreters must be willing to travel to various sites within the District.
Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED.

Additional Requirement:
Possession of valid California Driver's License and car for use in district business. A language assessment will be given to qualified candidates. As required by state law, should you be employed by the District, your fingerprints will be taken and submitted to the Justice Department and the FBI for a back ground check.

Required Application Procedure:
