Job Description

Metro Physical Therapy is looking for an experienced Exercise Instructor to work with us in a per diem capacity starting as soon as possible. You will be working with active older adults in a group fitness setting within our partnered Assisted Living Facility in Smithtown.

This is a 1099 independent contractor role, making it a great option for someone looking to earn some extra income while gaining experience!

Role Details:

  • Position: Exercise Class Instructor (1099 Independent Contractor)

  • Location: Smithtown

  • Schedule: 2 Monday morning classes & 1 Thursday morning class - Must be available for all 3!

  • Pay Rate: $34/class

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has CPR/AED certification and liability insurance 

  • Feels comfortable leading and motivating a group

  • Enjoys working with seniors

Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a group fitness instructor.
  • Must come with liability insurance
  • CPR Certification

Additional Information

The anticipated hourly pay range for this position is $34/hr. Compensation is based on various factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. 

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the staff member is frequently required to walk, stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The staff member can regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
