Job description


The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients to maintain or restore patients to their maximum functional performance level and completes discharge planning.
Responsibilities
Evaluates and develops plan of care according to American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) guidelines
Administers physical therapy treatments appropriate to diagnosis and to APTA guidelines
Completes discharge planning according to APTA guidelines by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care conferences
Documents and charges for patient care services by charting in patient and department records according to federal, state, and local regulations
Protects patients, employees, and visitors by promoting infection-control and safety policies and protocols
Meets productivity standards
Ensures operation of equipment, follows manufacturer's instructions; troubleshoots malfunctions and reports the need for repair to supervisor
Supervises Licensed Physical Therapy Assistants, Rehab Aides, other support staff, and students
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy
Required Certifications and Licensures: Licensed by the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy
Salary Range: FLAT RATE $55.00 per Hour
