Description
Translate institutional information and technology needs into working solutions. Will operate with a high degree of autonomy, use independent judgment, conduct systems analysis, implement effective coding solutions, and utilize logical database design to resolve complex technical challenges such as automating recurring departmental workflows, generating data extracts and integrating applications with the Ellucian Banner ERP
Examples of Duties
  • Consult with stakeholders to analyze complex business processes, define technical specifications, map out workflows, and design robust integrations and reporting solutions aligned with institutional policies and industry best practices
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to validate code, detect errors, and ensure all programs and integrations meet functional, regulatory, and security specifications
  • Diagnose and resolve Banner ERP, Oracle database, and other application related help desk tickets, ensuring seamless system operations and interface functionality.
  • Analyze programming challenges and research emerging tools and technologies to implement optimal solutions
  • Utilize programming languages and tools such as PL/SQL, SQL, UNIX shell scripting, Argos, Dynamic Forms, Etrieve, and Automic (UC4/Appworx) Applications Manager
  • Partner with development team to review, refactor, and modernize existing codebases while maintaining high code quality and documentation standards
  • Serve as a technical liaison between the College and external entities such as regional data centers and software vendors for applications such as Ellucian Banner, Cardinal-Ticketrak, and Etrieve to manage integrations, coordinate upgrades, and resolve technical challenges

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and five (5) years of experience in an appropriate area of specialization such as information technology, software development, or database administration
Preferred Qualifications
Higher Education experiencespecifically with the Ellucian Banner enterprise system, as well as Oracle databases; SQL; PL/SQL; APEX; UNIX shell scripting; PHP; technical writing skills, Argos or other Business Intelligence reporting tool.
