What is an app?

Apps jobs refer to roles focused on the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software applications, commonly known as 'apps.' These positions can include app developers, product managers, user experience designers, and quality assurance testers. Apps jobs are available across platforms such as mobile (iOS and Android), web, and desktop, and require a mix of technical, creative, and problem-solving skills. Professionals in this field work to create user-friendly and functional applications that meet specific business or consumer needs.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as an app developer?

To thrive as an App Developer, you need strong programming skills (such as Java, Swift, or Kotlin), a solid understanding of user interface design, and typically a degree in computer science or related field. Familiarity with development tools like Android Studio, Xcode, version control systems (e.g., Git), and relevant certifications are highly valued. Creative problem-solving, effective communication, and adaptability are important soft skills for collaboration and responding to evolving project requirements. These skills ensure the creation of high-quality, user-friendly apps that meet both technical standards and user expectations.

How do app developers typically collaborate with cross-functional teams during a project?

App development professionals regularly collaborate with designers, product managers, quality assurance testers, and marketing teams throughout the project lifecycle. This collaboration often involves regular stand-up meetings, sprint planning sessions, and ongoing communication via project management tools to ensure alignment on goals, timelines, and user requirements. By working closely with these teams, app developers can address technical challenges early, implement user feedback efficiently, and deliver a product that meets both business objectives and user needs.

Job description

Mobile Phlebotomist (Contract)
About the Job:
APPS Paramedical is one of the largest paramedical companies in the United States, offering nationwide coverage as we complete insurance physicals for people applying for life, health, or disability insurance products. The Austin office for APPS is looking for quality medical professionals to help us complete these exams in a timely, professional manner on behalf of the insurance company to which the policy is being applied.
Job Summary:
Our independent contractors (ICs) are self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and able to work with minimal supervision as they completed quality exams while using their medical know-how.  These exams are done on a mobile basis in the home or office of the client and may involve blood draws, medical histories, signatures on packets, vital signs, saliva samples, and 12 lead EKGs. They should be committed to following all compliance policies as well as safety policies and procedures while remaining sensitive to the need for accuracy and confidentiality in the gathering of client information. Depending on the exam requirements, an exam can last anywhere from 15 minutes to a little over an hour.
Hours:
  • Set your schedule! We offer exams 7 days a week and 52 weeks a year.
  • Most of our contractors have full-time jobs and use this as an opportunity to make even more money each month.
  • We schedule your appointments for you, so you get to focus on what you do best…medical exams!

Reimbursement:
  • You are reimbursed every two weeks by direct deposit for each exam you complete.

Territory:
  • Set your territory by choosing the zip codes you will work within.

Orientation:
  • We provide a 6-hour orientation time to verify your skills as well as show you the paperwork and website used by our ICs.

Equipment:
  • Reliable vehicle, Scale, 2 Measuring tapes(one to be cloth), Blood pressure cuff, tablet/laptop with touch screen capability, internet access, and printer. Centrifuge, and EKG machine (can be purchased or rented from us for $5/mo).
  • Use of your equipment will be considered but is not guaranteed.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience, as well as familiarity with taking vital signs.
  • Familiarity with tablets/computers and scanners is a must.
  • Preferred experience with pediatric and geriatric patients/home health.
  • EKG experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Please expect references to be checked as well as a background check and drug test.

Education preferred:
