Job description

We are seeking a Maintenance Apprentice to join our dynamic and innovative team. Reporting directly to the Site Supervisor or Chief Engineer. The candidate will be responsible for general maintenance and grounds maintenance. This role offers hands-on experience, working closely with maintenance technician and building engineers to acquire essential skills in machinery, equipment maintenance, repair techniques, and safety practices. Candidates must pass an HBM prescreen check, possess a valid driverโ€™s license, have access to a reliable vehicle, and while previous hands-on basic maintenance experience is preferred, it is not required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team are essential. -Position: Maintenance Apprentice

-Location: Honolulu, Hawaii

-Schedule: Varies from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week. Please note that this includes the expectation to work 9 Saturdays within a calendar year, depending on work assignments. Be prepared to be available for emergency issues after hours, as well as on weekends and holidays.

-Compensation per hour: $20.00 to $22.00

Key Responsibilities:

-Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs, which may include: Basic plumbing, electrical work, mechanical systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, painting, drywall, and grounds maintenance.

-Ability to access tight spacesย 

-Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

-Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are functioning correctly and conduct repairs as necessary.

-Deliver outstanding customer service when interacting with property managers, vendors, and clients.

-Engage in continuous movement, including standing, walking, bending, and stretching throughout the shift.

-Lift, push, and pull weights between 50 to 75 pounds.

-Create and maintain work orders and purchase orders.

-Complete any additional maintenance-related tasks assigned by the HBM supervisor or property management.

Skills/Qualifications:

-A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

-A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle are required.

-Must successfully pass HBM prescreen check.

-Basic mathematical skills.

-Customer service-oriented mindset.

-Strong attention to detail.

-Excellent organizational abilities.

-Willingness to learn and grow.
