Position: Pipefitter - Shop Fabrication

Position Overview: We are seeking experienced, skilled pipefitters to join our growing team. In this position you will be responsible for planning and installing all piping systems for our construction project/sites as assigned. You should have ample experience in welding, joining, and installing a variety of piping systems, as well as installing manual and electric safety valves.
Job Duties:
  • Configure pipe systems blueprint and plan piping systems layouts.
  • Ensure all steam, water, chemicals, or other liquids are turned off before working on the piping system.
  • Precisely cut, bend, and weld metals such as carbon and stainless steel.
  • Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials from pipes as needed.
  • Install piping or tubing segments securely with welding or other equipment.
  • Thread, weld, solder piping together.
  • Consult with job site management for hole placements in walls and bulkheads.
  • Ensure pipe sizes, hangers, supports, and joint needs for accurate flow.
  • Cut and alter the piping to ensure the correct sizes.
  • Perform trial runs and tests on pipe systems.
  • Repair and reinforce broken, cracked, or inadequate systems or pipes.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Three years' experience as a pipefitter or pipefitter apprenticeship preferred.
  • High school degree or equivalent educational experience; vocational school or trade apprenticeship required.
  • Must meet all state license requirements.
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations regarding piping systems
  • OSHA 10 preferred.

Essential Requirements:
  • Manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environment
  • Fit and move in confined spaces including tanks and vessels.
  • Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors
  • You must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Working outside most of the time with potential exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
  • Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks.
  • Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day.
  • Use of respirator if position requires.
  • Potential or periodic amounts of time for the following:
    • Sit, stoop, crawl, stand, and kneel.
  • If driving is required, a valid driver's license and proof of insurability will be required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
