Job description

Job Title: Senior Facilities Operations Manager (Mission-Critical Infrastructure)
Role Overview
We are seeking a technically elite and leadership-driven Senior Facilities Operations Manager to oversee a newly constructed, high-rise government infrastructure facility. This is a hands-on leadership role within a 30-year performance-based contract. You will be responsible for ensuring a seamless, uninterrupted environment by managing all interior and exterior building systems, excluding security and IT.
The ideal candidate blends high-level strategic oversight with the ability to perform complex mechanical repairs. You will lead a team of specialized technicians to ensure that all equipment-specifically HVAC, Mechanical, and Building Automation Systems-performs to rigorous specifications 24/7.
Key Responsibilities
• Team Leadership: Supervise and coach a team of facility technicians. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide technical training to junior staff.
• Technical Maintenance: Oversee and perform repairs on complex systems, including HVAC, Heat Exchangers, Chiller Pumps, Fire Alarms, and Potable Water systems.
• BMS & Automation: Monitor and adjust Building Automation Systems (BMS) to maintain allowable parameters and maximize equipment lifespan.
• Preventive Strategy: Develop and implement robust preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime in a mission-critical environment.
• Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Source required parts and manage various subcontracted services for specialized repairs and renovations.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure 100% compliance with OSHA codes and safety regulations, promoting a proactive safety culture across the site.
• Operational Readiness: Participate in an on-call rotation to address emergencies and facilitate uninterrupted daily operations.
• Resource Planning: Working from drawings and schematics, plan and requisition materials for all service, repair, and PM work.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Education: Two-year technical degree or completion of a formal apprenticeship. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business is highly preferred.
• Experience: 5+ years as an Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Supervisor in a large-scale commercial or mission-critical environment.
• Technical Skills: * Expert knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Carpentry.
• Proficiency in BMS systems and CMMS software (Procore, Smartsheet, etc.).
• Universal EPA Refrigeration Certification is preferred.
• Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication in English; Spanish proficiency is a significant plus.
• Physical Demands: Must be able to climb ladders, work in restricted spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
