Job description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging โ€“ but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What Youโ€™ll Build

The SAP Internship Experience Program is SAPโ€™s global, strategic, paid internship program that provides university students with opportunities to find purpose in their careers. This is more than an internship, itโ€™s the foundation for a career built on connection, creativity, and impact.

Position Title: SAP Concur iXp Intern โ€“ Software Developer

Location: Vancouver, BC

Anticipated Start Date: September 8, 2026

Contract Duration: 8 months

Work Hours: 40 hours per week; Full-time internship

  • Build web apps and cloud services in a microservice architecture
  • Understand, debug, and make meaningful improvements to code used by real customers
  • Scale and improve software systems that span multiple teams
  • Own services end-to-end: developing code, writing test automation, managing DevOps, and resolving production problems
  • Use AI coding tools as part of your everyday development workflow โ€” writing, reviewing, and improving code collaboratively with AI assistance
  • Problem solve alongside a team of experienced engineers
  • Grow your technical, architectural, and communication skills through hands-on project work

What Youโ€™ll Bring

A curious and agile mindset, with a passion for learning and the resilience to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate ideas clearly and effectively. Emotional intelligence and cultural awareness that support inclusive teamwork and thoughtful stakeholder engagement. A growing foundation in business acumen and emerging technologies โ€” especially artificial intelligence โ€” paired with a results-oriented approach and the courage to take initiative.

Education: Computer Science or related field of study.

Eligibility: Must be currently enrolled, or recently graduated (start date must be within 6 months of graduation date) from a coding academy/bootcamp, apprenticeship, associate, bachelorโ€™s, masterโ€™s or JD/PhD program.

You're someone who enjoys digging into hard problems and isn't afraid to ask questions. You thrive in an environment where you can take ownership, learn quickly, and contribute to a platform used by millions of people. You're comfortable with ambiguity and excited by the idea of working across the full stack โ€” from infrastructure to user-facing features.

You won't be expected to know all of these โ€” we care about your ability to learn and grow across:

  • Golang, JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, React/Redux, GraphQL, Java, Kotlin, Python, C# (.NET), concurrent programming (coroutines, actors, threads, processes)
  • Linux, shell scripting, Git, SRE/DevOps, Docker containers, AWS, Kubernetes, Ansible, continuous/frequent deployments, zero-downtime techniques
  • SQL databases (MS SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres), NoSQL data stores (Redis, Memcache, DynamoDB)
  • Web application architecture: TCP/IP networking (HTTP, WebSocket, load balancing), AJAX, encryption (SSL/TLS, JWT), security fundamentals (XSS, CSRF), CDNs (Akamai, CloudFront), performance monitoring (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Dynatrace)
  • Test automation (unit, integration, end-to-end)
  • AI-assisted development tools and practices (GitHub Copilot, LLMs for code generation and review)
