MSD is looking for a Fire & Security Installation Assistant to join our team!

As a Fire & Security Installation Assistant, you'll gain hands-on experience installing fire alarms, security systems, surveillance cameras, access control systems, and network cabling for commercial and industrial facilities—all while receiving the training and mentorship needed to grow into a licensed technician.
About the Role
The Fire & Security Installation Assistant works alongside an experienced Lead Technician to install, service, and maintain commercial fire alarm, security, camera, and access control systems. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to develop technical skills, earn an Ohio Fire Alarm License, and build a long-term career in the fire and security industry.
QUALIFICATIONS AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalentÂ
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn a skilled tradeÂ
- Strong work ethic and positive attitudeÂ
- Ability to take direction and work well as part of a teamÂ
- Excellent communication skillsÂ
- Strong attention to detailÂ
- Dependable and safety-focusedÂ
- Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's licenseÂ
- U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
Job Duties:
- Assist with the installation and service of commercial fire alarm systemsÂ
- Help install and troubleshoot security systems, surveillance cameras, and access control equipmentÂ
- Install and support network and fiber optic cablingÂ
- Learn proper installation techniques and industry best practices from experienced techniciansÂ
- Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and efficientlyÂ
- Test systems to verify proper operation before project completionÂ
- Maintain accurate documentation including labor, materials, and service recordsÂ
- Attend training sessions and technical meetings to continue developing your skillsÂ
- Work toward obtaining and maintaining your Ohio Fire Alarm LicenseÂ
- Represent the company professionally while providing outstanding customer serviceÂ
