Description
Manual Machinist, large Lathe, Knee Mill or Boring Mill.
At Hydraulic Service& Manufacturing, we manufacture and repair larger hydraulic cylinders and components. We are looking for a Manual Machinist to join our team. If you are a skilled in Manual Lathes, we have both manual and CNC lathes., You will need to machine parts from drawing, sketch's or by coping existing components using a variety of equipment., such as a lathe, drill press.
If you have, boring bar, and Milling machines experience. we mill smaller parts to large casings Our ideal candidate has completed a training program through an industry apprenticeship or earned a machinist certificate from a vocational school and has at least 8 years of manufacturing experience. Prior roles as a lathe operator or in another manual machining position is a Must.
CNC set up and operation is a plus.
Requirements
Machining hydraulic cylinder shafts and components 30-120" long average, holding .0005 -.001" tolerances, General machining of piece parts, short runs. Using prints or sketches, reverse engineer replacement parts. Basic understating of Hydraulic cylinders required.
You will be required to accurately measure parts using Micrometers, Calipers, Dial indicators.
Below is a list of job duties performed regularly:
  • Turn down and thread 2" diameter x 48" long Chrome plated rod.
  • Machine and thread a 3.500" -4" Shaft
  • Thread The inside of an 8" bore cylinder
  • Drill & tap 12" bolt circles
  • Bore holes for spherical bearings of all different sizes
  • Machine a rod to 5" square wrench flat.
  • Single point threading
