Description
CNC Machinist will be required to perform multiple tasks:
  • Operating machine tools such as CNC lathes, drill presses, grinders, and shapers to fabricate metal parts
  • Reading blueprints or engineering drawings and making operating notes regarding machining requirements
  • Using Machine tools to make larger hydraulic cylinder shafts and barrels, glands, and pistons materials to size using saws, files, chisels, and other tools.
  • Operating computer-controlled equipment to make precision parts for machinery, hydraulic equipment, industrial equipment, aerospace components, electronics, and other applications
  • Selecting the proper cutting tool for each application and setting up machinery for optimal performance
  • Inspecting and measuring materials to ensure conformance with specifications
  • Reading drawings to determine cutting parameters, tool requirements, and machining time estimates
  • Operating manual lathes and milling machines to machine parts from raw materials is a plus.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as machinist
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in operating CNC machines in a metal working environment
  • Set up and program adjustment ability a must
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and DXF files
  • Knowledge of the properties of metals and other materials
  • Good at math with analytical abilities
  • ability to hold .0005" tolerances on finished parts.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Knowledge of Proto Trak software a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset
