Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesย include the following:ย ย 

ย Machinesย parts by using blueprints, work instructions, and other part specifications.ย 

  • Responsible for setting up CNC machines for production runs, this includes setting up vises/fixtures, cutting tools, and offsets.ย 
  • Operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling and milling of components.ย 
  • Verifies quality of components throughout the machining process, first parts, in-process inspections adhering to standards.ย 
  • Maintains part specifications byย observingย drilling, threading,ย facingย and milling operations.ย Takesย measurements,ย detectsย malfunctions, troubleshoots, replace worn tools, and make machineย adjustmentsย as necessary.ย 
  • Other job responsibilities areย sawing, washing, and deburring of parts.ย 
  • Occasionally aid in cutting fixturing, shop aids, new print revisions, and new parts never before produced.ย 
  • At all times, adheres to strict safety procedures and ensures that others entering the machine shop also adhere to safety protocols.ย 
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.ย ย 
  • Maintains continuity across work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.ย ย 
  • Continually updates job knowledge byย participatingย in training opportunitiesย 
  • Accomplishes CQ Medical goals by accepting ownership forย accomplishingย production needs, new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value through our machining resources.ย

Education and/or Experienceย 

  • Minimum of four years of successful experience as a CNC operatorย or Related Experience.ย

ย Completion of Apprenticeship and /or certificate or degree in machining, engineering, or related field is a plus but is not required.ย ย ย 

  • Computer savvy with a basic understanding of CAD/CAM programmingย 
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings.ย 
  • Strong conceptual skills.ย 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and understand complex instructions in the English language.ย 
  • Successful experience with process improvement, tooling, and use of the functional and technical skills needed to perform this job.ย 
  • Attention to detail and good judgment.ย 
  • Ability to work well with others, displaying professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to achieving CQ Medicalโ€™s mission and vision.ย
