DESCRIPTION

Distribution Support Representative - Cartersville (Northwest Distribution) at Georgia Power Company

Reports to: Engineering Supervisor

 

Work Location: 10 Massell Dr. Cartersville, GA 30120

 

Position will be filled at Non-exempt 4 - 6 level.

Job Summary

This position provides administrative support to the Distribution Organization at the Cartersville Operating HQ and Dalton Operating HQ. This position also serves as primary backup to support staff as needed for other locations in Northwest Distribution. 

This position is located in Cartersville, Georgia. Candidate must currently live within a reasonable commute to the operating headquarters OR must quickly relocate at their own expense.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Answer phone calls and meet with Internal customers in a professional and responsive manner, accurately assessing the relative urgency and priority of each call and follow through to ensure the customer is appropriately handled.
  • Support compliance requirements for assigned office locations.
  • Serve as Compliance Poster Coordinator for Cartersville and Dalton HQ
  • Serve as the Oracle PaySOurce (timekeeping) administrator for assigned departments
  • Manage Expenses for the group (expense statements, mileage, procurement card charges, check requests, and invoices)
  • Support Region SERP activities by assisting with logistics, meals, TCMS, and other duties as assigned with potential for overnight travel
  • Candidate must be available to work overtime during storm duty - this could include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Coordinate meetings by scheduling conference rooms, overseeing catering requests, and reserving audiovisual equipment for NW Distribution.
  • Maintain office supplies  
  • Help sort and distribute incoming mail
  • Maintain various internal phone directories/contact lists
  • Maintain SERP information
  • Manage employee/contractor badging requests
  • Maintaining confidential information including archiving of business records
  • Assist with VA Monthly Certification of Training hours for Veteran Apprentices (Training Req)
  • Ability to learn Contract for Covered Employees to assist with timekeeping entry

  

Job Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • College coursework and/or degree are a plus.
  • Certification as an administrative professional is a plus.

Job Experience

  • At least 2 years of administrative/secretarial experience supporting multiple managers and staff in a preferred business setting.
  • Prior data entry and reporting experience.
  • Previous experience using an online time recording system/software preferred.
  • Expense reporting knowledge a plus.
  • Experience working with a diverse group with multiple needs preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Candidate must successfully qualify on the EEI SASS test.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
  • Knowledge of Oracle, JETS, CSS, ARCOS desired.
  • Effective communication skills
