EMC Mechanical Services is searching for a Commercial Pipe Fitter to join our team! A Pipe Fitter needs to be able to work in tandem with a Welder. This position needs to be able to read and understand drawings, as well as knowing how to fit pipe. In addition to pipe fitting, this position is also responsible for utilizing and teaching any Apprentices or Helpers who have been assigned to assist them.

What You'll Do:

  • Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
  • Assemble and weld pipe components and systems.
  • Assist Welders, Plumbers, and other trades when not pipe fitting.
  • Train Apprentices and Helpers.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in a commercial or industrial Pipe Fitting role.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
    • Trade based training program for Pipe Fitting is preferred.
  • Currently owns a personal set of tools required for the trade.
  • Ability to read and use blueprints.
  • Productive time management for projects.
  • Ability to work irregular and extended hours as dictated by current project.
  • Driving Requirements
    • Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
    • Must have positive points on state driving record.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
    • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
    • All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb. 
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted. 
    • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
