Apprentice Motor Control Electrician Jobs in Puerto Rico

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for performing installations, diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment of industrial equipment/machinery and facility systems using diagrams, schematics, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications. All tasks must be performed in compliance with safety requirements, quality standards, and company-established policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Install, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and refurbish mechanical components of industrial equipment/machinery and facility systems according to departmental schedules and timelines.

Install, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and refurbish electrical and electronic components of industrial equipment/machinery and facility systems according to departmental schedules and timelines.

Perform calibration work on industrial machinery.

Analyze and detect mechanical or operational malfunctions in production-line machinery and equipment and perform the necessary repairs.

Coordinate work priorities with department personnel and/or the immediate supervisor to ensure completion of assigned work and schedules.

Ensure the daily optimal operation of industrial equipment, machinery, and facility systems within the assigned area.

Interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot equipment and machinery issues.

Identify parts, tools, and materials required for repairs and preventive maintenance.

Prepare purchase requisitions for tools and materials needed for repairs or preventive maintenance and submit them to the immediate supervisor.

Perform plumbing and construction-related work.

Notify the immediate supervisor when external vendors are required for equipment and/or machinery repairs.

Maintain clean work areas and report unsafe conditions that may affect employee safety.

Comply with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

Actively participate in department meetings to discuss operational and administrative matters.

Follow all Human Resources and company policies, procedures, and standards.

Regularly operate a motor vehicle as part of job duties and/or occasionally operate overhead cranes.

Education, Experience, Certifications, and Licenses

Education

Associate Degree in Tool & Die, Mechanics, Electricity, Refrigeration, Electronics, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience

Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in one or more of the following areas:

Hydraulics, Electrical or Electronic Systems, Pneumatics, Welding, Parts Fabrication, Reactive and Preventive Maintenance

Licenses

Electrician License.

Valid Driver’s License.

Competencies and Knowledge

Advanced proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish.

Intermediate proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Problem-solving methodologies.

Advanced troubleshooting skills.

Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.

Proficiency with measurement equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, infrared cameras, and similar instruments.

Knowledge of tools such as grinders, drills, saws, and related equipment.

Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems.

Knowledge of instrumentation tools and circuit operation.

Advanced calibration knowledge.

Advanced electrical/electronic knowledge.

Advanced knowledge of production machinery operation.

Experience with complex mechanical systems.

Knowledge of fabricated-part manufacturing processes.

Knowledge of electrical generators, air compressors, cooling systems (chillers/cooling towers), control systems, scrubbers, and HVAC systems.

Advanced experience in production machinery setup and adjustments.

Knowledge of statistics and mathematics.

Proficiency in Windows-based applications and systems (e.g., Microsoft Excel).

Basic welding knowledge.

Basic sheet metal and painting knowledge.

Plumbing experience.

Refrigeration experience.

Technical knowledge of occupational health and safety.

Knowledge of LOTO, electrical hazards, confined spaces, fall protection, chemical handling, safety equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Knowledge of quality systems, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 requirements.

Knowledge of Lean manufacturing tools and methodologies.

Ability to plan and coordinate daily tasks.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Pay Details: $19.50 to $21.25 per hour
