Job description

CNC Machinist / Programmer

We are a manufacturing company focused on precision injection mold building, repair, and tooling support. Our team works with high-precision equipment and components to support quality-driven manufacturing and dependable production solutions for our customers.

Summary

Responsible for programming, setting up, and operating high-precision CNC milling equipment to manufacture close-tolerance components for injection molds. Creates and optimizes CNC programs, produces high-quality parts in hardened tool steels and graphite, and supports the Tool Room in mold manufacturing and repair.

Essential Functions
  • Program complex 3‑axis toolpaths using Mastercam for mold components and electrodes.
  • Use SolidWorks to interpret models and prepare geometry for programming.
  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines including Mikron Mill S 500 and Haas VM2.
  • Perform hard milling and high-speed machining on hardened tool steels.
  • Manufacture precision graphite electrodes for EDM processes.
  • Inspect finished components using precision measuring tools.
  • Maintain tooling, fixtures, and machine cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with Mold Makers and Engineers to ensure manufacturability and accuracy.
  • Follow company and OSHA safety policies.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Proficiency in Mastercam for CNC programming.
  • Ability to read and interpret 3D CAD files (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Hands‑on CNC mill setup and operation experience.
  • Understanding of machining principles, tooling, and feeds/speeds.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to hold tight tolerances.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry 40 lbs or more.

Preferred:

  • Experience running Mikron Mill S 500 and/or Haas VM2.
  • Experience with hard milling or high-speed machining.
  • Experience machining hardened tool steels and graphite.
  • Exposure to mold making or Tool Room environments.
