Training: 7:00am-3:00pm; Paid Lunch Break
After training, the company will assign you to either :

Position Summary:
This position will provide electrical and instrumentation maintenance support for the site. Position will troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and calibrate electrical manufacturing equipment and other systems throughout the plant. May require the installation or upgrade of new or existing equipment. All work performed must comply with the appropriate electrical regulatory code(s). Position is responsible for individual safety as well as the safety of others working in the area.


Essential Functions
Adhere to Safety, Health and Environmental (SH&E) policies and procedures. Responsible for the completion of Hot Work, Line Break, Lock, Tag & Try, contractor work permits and other SH&E permits. Maintain a questioning attitude to ensure a safe work environment.
Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions. Complete necessary forms, charts, etc. to document the process. Respond appropriately to process variations.
Ability to safely work with hazardous materials.
Daily inspection of equipment. Troubleshoot equipment as needed and perform preventative maintenance.
Ability to work in a team environment and move to where the work is required. Train co-workers on job tasks as required
Perform housekeeping and 5S. Operate forklift and other motorized transportation equipment as necessary.
Communicate the status of the operation to the shift following. Report to work station on time in order to receive operation status from previous shift.
Participate in safety efforts (VPP, JHAs, etc.) and CIP teams
Perform electrical and instrumentation, maintenance, repair and calibration.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Ability to read and follow SOPs and work instructions and work safely.
Initiative to begin, take control, and compete projects
Strong communication skills with various levels

Strong recall of written and verbal directions
Strong ability to follow precise standards
Strong experience with electrical troubleshooting.
Experience up to 2400V, 3 phase, motor control circuitry, minor rigging and mechanical, control voltages, and instrumentation calibration.
Ability to work safety with hazardous materials and hazardous waste in accordance with applicable federal (RCRA) and state (PA DEP) regulations.
Previous manufacturing experience in a chemical plant (preferred)
Electrician Journeyworker certification (required**)
Proficiency in basic PC navigation and PLC operations. (required)
2-4 years of manufacturing electrical experience (preferred)
Pay ranges from $26.52/hour (Entry-Level) up to $33.37/hour (Journeyworker) and $36.44 (Electrical Technician).


**The company will consider candidates without Journeyworker credentials with the following requirement: the candidate agrees and understands that they are required and responsible to attend classes and receive their Journeyworker status within 4 years of being hired in this position.


In addition, the candidate must successfully complete the PLC for Industry Certificate Program at Penn State Berks campus and with a minimum grade of “C” in each of the 5 courses. The 1-year certificate program must be completed after the awarded candidate successfully completes the Electrical Journeyworker program.
Applicants will be required to take an online test to demonstrate their current level of proficiency as an electrician.
The candidate entering this program must agree to remain an employee of GAM for a minimum of two years after completion of training and if they resign within two years of completing training, they will be required to reimburse GAM for all tuition fees.
