Integrated Solution Test Technician Apprentice
Vertiv is currently looking to bring a driven Test Technician Apprentice onto our team to assist in the development of our Switchgear product line. We are looking for an individual who is detail-oriented leader and technically proficient. We are building a motivated team of technicians who will produce a quality product for some of the most prestigious clients in the world.
The ideal candidate will assist with troubleshooting, testing, and inspecting complex electrical systems, operate all types of test equipment, and have some experience in coordination of electrical systems.
Essential Job Functions
  • Maintain positive, progressive, and productive attitude toward plant targets and objectives regarding reliability, accountability, safety, integrity, quality, and productivity as a unified goal.
  • Assist with all aspects of testing and maintenance of electrical Switchgear systems.
  • Assist with instrument transformer tests, power transformer testing, automatic transfer switch troubleshooting, generator testing, power meter testing, and circuit breaker testing.
  • Troubleshooting capabilities, relay calibration, use of load and power quality recording instrumentation, medium voltage breaker and switchgear testing.
  • Assist with Testing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems, moderately complex relay systems and power metering.
  • Write complete, detailed reports promptly at end of project using a computer, and recording of test results for detailed completion of test booklets
  • Take an active role in business development and expansion.
  • Complete extensive on-the-job and classroom trainings related to testing complex electrical systems safely and effectively.
  • Montior and maintain assigned tools and equipment and follow all safety protocols.

Required Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Currently pursuing or completed Associates Degree in an applicable field (Electrical Engineering, Industrial Electronics, etc.) preferred.
  • 1-2 years experience successfully working in an electrical industry, troubleshooting electrical systems, commissioning and final handover of electrical switchgear systems.
  • Ability to safely and effectively follow written and verbal instructions.

Physical / ADA Requirements
Due to the nature of our work, Team Members may be required to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis, carry objects over distance, bend/twist, squat, climb ladders, stand for extended periods of time, use tools requiring manual dexterity, and may be required to operate powered industrial equipment.
