Key Accountabilities
  • Operate vaporizers, liquefier, and all ancillary LNG plant equipment such as compressors, pumps, boilers, heat exchange equipment, generators, and other equipment. Perform LNG truck unloading and loading operations

    Perform Preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment, instrumentation and controls, buildings and grounds as required and in conformance with plant maintenance procedures

    Responsible for overall security of the facility in conformance with plant security procedures and policies

    Record all required paper and digital operating data and reports accurately and legibly

    Complete all assigned training on time to maintain operator qualifications for this classification per DOT, State and local regulations

    Initiate corrective action to assure reliability of equipment and alert supervision to potential problems and failures

    Maintain and manage accurate inventories of spare parts and materials

    Assist in training new operator recruits

    Perform all required duties to Code(s) & Company standards; oversee the work performed by contractors, perform any other plant work as assigned

Qualifications
  •  Physically fit to perform the duties in accordance with DOT and Company medical standards.

    Hold a valid driver's license.

    Able to climb and work on ladders

    Not afraid of heights and must be able to climb stairs to the top of the LNG tank and perform work on the top of the tank

    High School Diploma or equivalent.  Related industry experience is preferred as well as experience in mechanics, chemical process or a skilled trade

    Demonstrate electrical and mechanical aptitude

    Ability to use judgment and make sound decisions.

    Must be able to work rotating shifts, respond to after-hours call-outs and off-schedule shift coverages as needed

    Any other qualifications the Company determines necessary to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the LNG Plant. If the qualifications are modified or new qualifications are added, reasonable notice will be given to the Union. If the Union requests further discussion, the Company will endeavor to arrange such discussion.

    The LNG Operator Apprentice position is a training position. Employees entering the LNG Operator Apprentice position must progress to the LNG Operator position within eighteen (18) months. Progression is based on qualifications and job performance.
