Job description

Consolidated Engineering Laboratories (CEL) is a leader in providing quality materials testing and construction inspection services. CEL is a union firm with its corporate headquarters located in San Ramon, CA and has full-service facilities in Northern California, Hawaii, and Utah.
We are seeking an A1 Special Apprentice Inspector to join our San Ramon, CA team! Come join us!
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Ensure that the services provided are performed in accordance with the project requirements and contract with the client.
  • Ensure procedures followed & materials utilized conform to contract documents & applicable codes.
  • Examine finished work to ensure compliance w/ regulations governing construction.
  • Prepare samples of approved or unapproved materials for testing.
  • Interpret blueprints & specifications.
  • Perform calculations relative to inspection requirements.
  • Write daily field reports.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able and willing to work some weekends and occasional overtime.
  • Must have strong communications skills and be able to use applications on a smart phone or tablet.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprint design plans and project instructions.
  • Ability to write daily reports.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Ability to follow Construction Site Safety Precautions.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.

Compensation:
$33 - $33.76 hourly
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the state's law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
