Job description

Position Overview:
ย 
As the Operations Manager, you'll oversee our HVAC installation and service departments, managing day-to-day operations, inventory control and ordering, providing leadership to all crews, and ensuring each job is completed on time, within budget, and with top-tier craftsmanship. You'll work closely with our leadership team and clients to deliver exceptional service!
Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and manage installation jobs from start to finishย inย HouseCallย Proย with at least aย one weekย lead time.ย 

  • monitor Service Calls throughย HouseCallย Proย 

  • Lead and coach HVACย installย technicians, apprentices, and service technicians. Complete annual review of technician performanceย 

  • Ensure that employees have proper tools for the job and that they are properlyย maintained.ย 

  • Work with Lead Installers to helpย adviseย them on installation jobs &ย ensuringย jobs are goingย according to plan and expectationsย 

  • Perform job site walk-throughs and inspections to ensure quality and safetyย 

  • Ensure fleet trucks are properlyย stocked at all times, all required materials for jobs are available in warehouse orย hasย been ordered to start job, and job timelines and job details are reviewed with lead technician.ย 

  • Manage allย callbacksย withย customers and office staff to ensure problem resolution is completed within 1-2 business days.ย 

  • Communicate clearly with customers, office staff, and suppliers.ย ย 

  • Completeย daily meetings with crews to ensure job locations, expectations, and job tasksย 

  • Troubleshoot installation issues and provide onsite support when neededย 

  • Assistย with hiring, training, and onboarding new installย and serviceย staffย 

  • Track job costs, material usage, and labor efficiencyย 

  • Daily inspection of trucks to ensure proper organization of tools and materialsย 

  • Daily walk-through of inventory and match against scheduled installation and service jobs to create orders twice a weekย 

  • Create andย monitorย Standard Operating Procedures for technicians to follow on all jobsย includingย the use ofย HouseCallย Proย 

  • Conductย monthlyย safety meetingsย ย 

  • Generate reports and measures of departmental operations as well as records on all inventory,ย toolsย and vehicles. Reviews reports with management.ย 

  • Monitors preventive maintenance of vehicles to ensure proper operationย 

  • Oversees facility and equipment maintenance, ensuring that assets are protected and controlledย 

Qualifications
  • 5-10+ years of hands-on HVAC install experienceย 

  • Previousย leadership/supervisory experience in the tradesย 

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical code, ductwork, and various system types (furnaces, A/C, boilers, mini splits, etc.)ย 

  • Excellent communication and time management skillsย 

  • Ability to work with computer systems andย HouseCallย Proย 

  • Ability to handle fast-paced schedules and prioritize field needsย 

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving recordย 

  • Willingness to be hands-on and jump in when neededย 

  • High integrity, accountability, and attention to detailย
