Job description
The Commissioning Agent is responsible for resolving commissioning challenges including developing and implementing commissioning process delivery plans. They will help identify system issues related to design, installation, or performance and work with stakeholders to resolve.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Lead and execute commissioning of HVAC, process piping, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
- Resolve commissioning-related challenges and execute assigned commissioning tasks.
- Prepare and perform a variety of tests including functional performance testing (FPT) and integrated systems testing (IST).
- Document deficiencies, track corrective actions, and verify system performance under various load and failure scenarios.
- Develop and implement commissioning process delivery plans for assigned projects.
- Review and apply construction documents, including plans and specifications, to support commissioning activities.
- Collect and integrate information from end users, project partners, field investigations, and applicable codes and standards.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience with a general understanding of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, process piping, and plumbing. Experience with data center projects is preferred and a big plus.
- Education: Associate's degree in construction management, engineering, or completion of apprenticeship in a respective field required.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of all codes, regulations, and laws for related projects. Familiarity with HVAC controls sequences. Microsoft software proficiency including Excel, Bluebeam, and Word. Preferred experience with commissioning software such as CxAlloy or Cx Planner. Experience in diagnosing and solving construction and operational problems. Working knowledge of building automation systems including graphics, sequencing, and trending.
- Behavioral Skills: Problem solving, working in a team environment, written and verbal communication skills.
Description of Physical Working Environment:
- Work is performed on active construction sites.
- May require lifting equipment, navigating mechanical spaces, and working around high voltage.
- Must adhere to strict safety protocols and PPE.
